Workshop Engineer (Semi-skilled)

Location: Elland, Halifax

Terberg DTS UK is looking for a Workshop Engineer (Semi-skilled) to join our growing team and to be part of our Workshop team.

What is the job role?

To perform a variety of routine servicing, inspections (VOSA standards) and subsequent repairs to one or more types of Distribution Tractors and other vehicles/equipment. To perform visual or operational checks and carry out repairs as required. To repair inoperable or defective machine parts, components or systems using test equipment. To observe all Health & Safety requirements at all times. You will also be required to carry out planned mobile repair work and attend breakdowns as part of the Field Service Team as needed.

Requirements and what we are looking for

• To accurately and quickly undertake repairs. To include working on a range of makes and models.
• To able to undertake vehicle servicing, repair and other related work.
• To complete all vehicle servicing and repair documentation correctly, in a timely manner and to a good standard.
• To be able to interpret and remedy vehicle defect descriptions.
• To be willing to assist colleagues in the execution of their jobs as required.
• There will be an element of manual handling involved.
• To liaise with the Workshop Co-ordinator at the Commencement of duty each morning to receive guidance/instructions on Vehicle defects and related repair priorities.
• Undertake such other duties commensurate with the post as may be required for the safe and effective performance of the company.
• To work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
• Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.
• To be able to interpret and remedy vehicle defect descriptions communicated by vehicle users.
• To be willing to assist colleagues in the execution of their jobs as required.
• A flexible approach to working in a workshop team environment.
• A flexible approach to working hours is required.
• Communications skills, both verbal and in writing, together with the ability to communicate at all levels.
