Quality Manager

Location: Hybrid (3 days office 2 days home) with travel to our Elland, Nottingham and Gloucester offices

Terberg DTS UK is looking for a Quality Manager to join our growing and dynamic team.


What is the job role?

To be responsible for defining both product and service quality standards, the development of quality critical metrics to supervise supplier performance and ensuring that all products received and services delivered through Terberg DTS and Terberg MPM achieve these defined quality standards, across all our sites. To be responsible for advising the Senior Management on the definition and implementation of the Terberg DTS Quality Management System. This includes implementing, executing and auditing our quality procedures in line with ISO9001 standards, Quality Assurance and Quality Control.

Requirements and what we are looking for

  • Responsibilities Managing and implementing the requirements of an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Proactively connect, learn from, align to and shares with other Terberg companies.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and lead the Quality Inspections and Audits as required.
  • Working with key contacts in allowing the business to strive for continuous improvement, and work in conjunction with stakeholders with responsibility for delivering ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Create and develop a quality function that drive, monitor and measure continuous improvement in all areas of the business and our supply partners.
  • Audit and improve quality control processes and standardise quality measures across all departments.
  • Standardise internal quality practices and reporting, owning and driving resolution and managing corrective actions, working closely with relevant Heads of Department.
  • Deliver a comprehensive quality dashboard of KPI’s detailing both product reliability and partner performance.
  • Taking ownership for communicating to key partners and managing improvement activities.
  • Training, coaching and guiding our Internal Auditors to ensure that Quality is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Maintaining, monitoring and improving the Company Quality Management Systems:
  • Management of all QMS documentation.
  • Preparation and management of External Quality Assurance Audits.
  • Undertaking Internal Quality Assurance Audits in accordance with the audit plan.
  • Participate in groupwide projects, such as the yearly internal reporting to Terberg Group.
  • To work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
  • Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Sound understanding of instructional techniques.
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering background preferably on vehicle based systems.
  • Proven track record of the implementation of ISO systems.
  • Ability to influence and promote a positive compliance culture at all levels of the organisation.
  • The ability to identify and solve problems whilst prioritising issues and influencing others.
  • Critical Knowledge Required:
  • Knowledge of quality management process – i.e. ISO9001
  • In-depth understanding of relevant quality regulations and compliance requirements, including local, national, and international legislation.
  • Be familiar with special vehicles related quality regulation and standards.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive quality assessments to identify potential developmental opportunities, evaluate their likelihood and severity, and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate risks.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in Quality Management compliance and management, with specific knowledge of UK regulations and standards.
