Workshop Engineer (Semi-skilled)

Location: Elland, Halifax

Terberg DTS UK is looking for a Workshop Engineer (Semi-skilled) to join our growing team and to be part of our Workshop team.

What is the job role?

Due to expansion we are seeking a semi-skilled persons to perform a variety of tasks which will predominantly include the strip down of Terberg shunt units for salvage and scrap. For this role we are looking for an individual whom has some motor/mechanical experience.

Requirements and what we are looking for

  • Removing parts from vehicles with care in-order to identify salvage or scrap.
  • Operating machinery and tooling in a safe manner adhering to health & safety protocols.
  • Working within a team to assist and support colleagues where required.
  • There will be a large amount of manual handling involved within this role.
  • Follow instructions and guidance from colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards, keeping a clean and tidy work area.
  • Undertake such other duties as reasonably required.
  • Be willing and able to communicate effectively within a team.
  • To be able to follow instructions provided.
  • Developing own competences, there are opportunities to progress for the right candidate into the repair side of the workshop.
  • Some mechanical experience
  • Knowledge and confidence in using hand tools, axle stands, jacks etc in a safe manner
  • Forklift licence (Desirable)
  • Crane operation experience/licence (Desirable)
  • Full Valid UK driving licence (Desirable)
